R&D Director / Technical Expert

Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end R&D for complete robot systems; define product technology roadmaps and iteration plans; spearhead breakthroughs on core technical challenges.
- Drive the full lifecycle from prototype iteration and engineering validation to small-batch mass production; implement DFM principles and deliver comprehensive manufacturing documentation.
- Establish reliability testing and quality control frameworks; resolve field delivery and usage issues through closed-loop management; continuously enhance product stability.
- Oversee cost optimization, version control, component sourcing, and domestic substitution strategies; balance performance, quality, and mass-production costs.
- Manage the R&D team; refine development processes, knowledge management, and governance standards; collaborate with sales, delivery, and supply chain teams to accelerate commercialization.
- Continuously iterate product features; build sustainable technical moats; align product development with market scenarios and commercial growth milestones.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above; 8+ years of R&D experience in robotics / smart equipment / automation; 3+ years in leadership roles (e.g., Director of Product & R&D or Head of R&D).
- Proven track record managing the full 0-to-1 robot development cycle, including engineering optimization and small-batch mass production, with successful commercial launch cases.
- Expertise in integrated R&D of robotic mechanics, electronics, and software; deep familiarity with core component selection, system-level manufacturing processes, and reliability engineering.
- Strong engineering and mass-production mindset; adept at closing quality loops and driving product cost optimization.
- Thrives in fast-paced startup environments; highly execution-driven and resilient under pressure; prior experience at top-tier robotics companies is a plus.
