Cross-Border Supply Chain Manager / Lead
A Comprehensive Petrochemical Service Provider in South America
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a network of local Chinese suppliers; attend petrochemical industry exhibitions to visit, evaluate, and verify the creditworthiness of existing and potential partners.
- Execute procurement orders, conduct commercial negotiations and pricing, manage contract signing and execution tracking, and ensure the achievement of procurement targets.
- Liaise with local Chinese factories and logistics providers to oversee the end-to-end cross-border delivery process, supporting the implementation of export business to the US market.
- Compliance Management: Collaborate with headquarters to organize and prepare documentation related to import and trade compliance; establish and maintain supplier ledgers, partnership archives, and compliance records to ensure traceable business communication.
- Serve as the liaison window between the Chilean headquarters and the Chinese market, handling daily information integration, business reporting, and cross-team collaboration.
- Ensure seamless daily follow-up and management continuity in a weak-supervision, cross-timezone environment, guaranteeing key response times during headquarters' working hours and active participation in meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above; majors in International Trade, Business, Chemical Engineering, or related fields preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in multinational supply chain management; familiarity with foreign trade import / export is required, with additional preference for those experienced in industrial goods procurement and cross-border delivery.
- Proven track record in establishing supplier relationships, conducting credit investigations, and identifying trade risks.
- English proficiency as a working language (reading, writing, listening, and speaking); Spanish skills are a plus.
- Strong cross-cultural communication skills and experience working remotely / independently; ability to self-drive and deliver results in low-supervision environments.
- Adaptable to cross-timezone work rhythms with a strong results-oriented mindset.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and reliability.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- - Understanding of import / export trade and compliance basics for chemical products.
- - Experience working in foreign-invested enterprises or collaborating remotely with cross-border teams.
