Mechanical Structure Engineer
JuChu LingDong
Responsibilities
- Design small-scale, high-precision mechanical structures for robotic components, ensuring reliable packaging and mechanical transmission within limited spaces while meeting environmental robustness requirements such as IP protection, shock resistance, and vibration resistance.
- Collaborate with the hardware team on product integration design to achieve mechanical isolation, EMI shielding, and miniaturized layout of sensitive units.
- Drive DFM / DFA for high-precision plastic / rubber molding processes (e.g., micro-injection, insert molding, multi-cavity molds), lead BOM management, tolerance stack-up analysis, and technical coordination with suppliers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Polymer Materials Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in precision structural design for small-scale products, with hands-on background in developing plastic and rubber components.
- Proven end-to-end experience managing small-volume products from design through mass production; able to clearly articulate your contributions to structural solutions, mold follow-up, and resolution of mass-production issues.
- Expert-level proficiency in Creo (mandatory); familiarity with structural simulation tools such as ANSYS / ABAQUS is required. Knowledge of rubber hyperelastic constitutive models or plastic creep and viscoelastic behavior is a plus.
- Preferred candidates: Participants in Robocon, RoboMaster, or similar robotics competitions; those with experience in micro-mechanical system design or debugging; prior experience in consumer electronics or robotics structures is advantageous.
About the company
JuChu LingDong is a cutting-edge tech company originating from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, specializing in R&D for 3D force-tactile perception technologies for robots, aiming to endow robots with realistic 'touch' capabilities.
